Please bring a friend and join me at one or all of the following fundraising events!

DID YOU KNOW that over 3,000 Tennessee blood cancer patients registered to receive assistance from the Tennessee Chapter of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in 2008?

I feel honored to compete alongside 11 male and female business and community leaders from Middle Tennessee for the respective titles of Man and Woman of the Year — a friendly 10-week fundraising competition benefiting the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.  All candidates agree to raise at least $5000 by May 28, and those that raise the most support win the Man and Woman of the Year titles.

I have planned a few fundraising events to have fun while raising the dollars.  Will you help me meet my goal and more by attending one of the following events, and bringing a friend or two?

May 15, 7:30pm Private House Party: For the first time I will share a sneak preview of my next documentary film “Pedaling a Dream” – $75 donation per ticket. Please contact Lydia at (615) 340-5005 or email her at info@KilowattOurs.org for tickets and event info.  Buy now at: https://secure.groundspring.org/dn/index.php?aid=4903

Thur. May 28, 7:00pm Grand Finale Event

It’s a whirlwind.  Yesterday morning I made a presentation to the Greater Nashville Association of Realtors Environmental Committee, discussing how we might mobilize the force of 4,000 realtors in Middle Tennessee to help home buyers save energy.  Then I flew to College Station, courtesy of Johnson Controls, to meet a group of energized and motivated Aggies at tradition-rich Texas A&M University, engaged in a dorm-to-dorm competition to save energy.  Next week, the dorm that achieves the greatest degree of energy savings will be pronounced the winner.  Today I am back in Nashville and I am about to attend Mayor Karl Dean’s Green Ribbon Committee event to announce its plan to make Nashville the greenest city in the Southeast.  Check out www.TennesseeGreen.com later today for news about the plan.  Tomorrow I drive to Roanoke, WV to speak at the West Virginia Sustainability Fair at Stonewall Lodge. (my presentation is Saturday at 2:30pm)  Learn more at www.sustainablelivingforwv.com

Everywhere I go, I see the green movement deepening its roots, maturing, and becoming a powerful force in changing the world.  It is a thrill to be a part of its unfolding.
